Eaton Kuih Centre
Details
In Malaysian Chinese culture, particularly within the Straits Chinese community in Penang, it is customary to present Full Moon sets to celebrate a newborn’s first month. These sets typically include items such as Ang Koo (red tortoise-shaped glutinous rice cakes), Curry Chicken, and Nasi Kunyit (turmeric glutinous rice). The tradition of including these items in the Full Moon set can be traced back to local folk customs of offering gratitude to the Datuk Kong, a local guardian spirit, for the infant’s survival during the first month. Eaton Kuih Centre offers both complete Full Moon sets and individual items for purchase. Many people visit the center to place large orders for their child’s Full Moon celebration.
