Details

Since 2001, this humble stall has been operated by a senior couple and is distinguished by its location along a five-foot walkway, known as a ‘kaki lima’. What sets this stall apart is its unique choice of pre-fried noodles for their Wan Tan Mee dish. Typically, Wan Tan Mee consists of boiled noodles tossed in dark soy sauce, but here, they serve it with pre-fried noodles that are then boiled upon each order. Despite this difference, the preparation steps remain the same, and they also offer the classic fresh egg noodles on the menu.

When you take your first bite of the Fried Wan Tan Mee, you’ll immediately notice its slightly more springy and chewy texture. Combine it with the dark soy sauce and sambal, and you’ll experience a delightful burst of flavors. One standout item here is the Wantan dumpling, which has captured the hearts of many locals. These plump dumplings are filled generously with a mixture of minced pork, shrimp, and water chestnut chunks, providing a satisfying and crisp bite.

This stall’s longevity and unique approach to Wan Tan Mee have made it a favorite among locals. The dedication of the senior couple and their flavorful offerings continue to attract customers seeking a memorable dining experience.
