Details

Nearby the Cititel Hotel, in the middle of Penang city, is the Kheng Pin Cafe. The crossroads of Penang Road and Sri Bahari Road are where this cafe is located. Old-fashioned marble tables and wood chairs are still seen in Kheng Pin Cafe, a place that maintains its historical look and feels.

In this cafe, there are many different types of stalls providing delicious food. Example, Penang Loh Bak, Wan Tan Mee, Char Kuey Teow, Hainanese Chicken (Steamed), Satay, Hokkien Mee, Prawn Fritter, Shelled Shrimps in Tofu, Century Egg, and others.

Uncle Lau, the restaurant’s founder, and chef, is a kind and cheerful man. His deep-fried squid and prawn fritters, which are only made as needed to maintain freshness, are equally as delicious as his fantastic loh bak. The additional treats that Uncle Lau sells at his Loh Bak stand. Feel free to choose your own, or if you’re confused about what to buy, ask him for a suggestion.

There is no reason that you should reject this. Outside of Penang, you won’t get this flavor anywhere. Strongly recommended.
