A legend surrounds Sister Curry Mee. The sisters Mdm. Lim Kooi Heang and Mdm. Lim Kooi Lai has been selling their Penang-style curry mee in the area for many years. While the special of this curry mee is it is not a typical Penang Curry mee version as is slightly unique with its chili paste. Due to the usage of their chili paste, this curry mee differs from the traditional Penang Curry Mee type.
Both sisters are now very old. During World War II, they help their mother in curry mee sales to support the family’s income. Their curry mee has remained a staple dish in Penang up until now. Their two most distinctive elements are the chili and the special cuttlefish chili base, and they also cook the soup on a charcoal stove. Thus, soup has a slightly sweeter taste.
Due to their age problem, their grandniece and family members are helping the stall to maintain its excellent curry mee secret recipe recently. They are passing a memorable dish to the following generation, which is a nice appearance.
